What Do Banks Really Teach us: Savings or Charges?

Gone are those days when we go to the bank to save. Years back, we feel that putting and keeping our money in the bank will help us save and in fact grow our money.
Today, the story is totally quite different. People are trying to pull-out their valued money from their banks due to the rising bank charges such as maintenance fee, withdrawal fee, and so on and so forth. The list of charges with banks are endless. Who would not love to save? But who would love to keep their money and then just be eaten by bank charges especially if you are just a casual customer who struggle to even keep some for your future?
It is now getting confusing to others what the real value of savings with banks. Are banks really for the people and by the people? Or are they just there only for bank charges and service fees? This is a bit of interesting topic especially to those countries where bank charges are really madly increasing this year. People tend to close accounts in order to avoid future bank charges if they are not able to meet the terms and conditions. Yes, of course banks need to survive too in order to keep their business alive but should it always come from a simple bank transaction such as withdrawal?
One very important thing to remember before you deal with a bank for your money is to always read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS. If you miss one particular condition, you may miss more than just a dime of your own savings which you expect to grow. With the bank charges increasing and changing each year, people should be very attentive to the changes of their bank before they realize their savings have already been eaten up by bank charges, maintenance fee and service fee.
